Arm Locks

(you can also see points on the head, body, back and locks to the head, wrists and legs)

The following wrist locks make up some of  the arm locks you may need to know - try and flow from arm lock to arm lock - keep a lock on at all times! (This is by no means a complete list of wristlocks and they can also be applied from many other situations and attacks)

The preferred order to do the arm locks is - 1,2,3,4,1,2,5,6,7,1,8 (it makes sense when you do it with us!)

This is given for information purposes - you should not try to put a wristlock on someone unless you know what you are doing - you could break their arms/shoulders/elbows/joints/etc! Apply arm locks SLOWLY and release as soon as the person you are training with tap's to let you know its worked.

1.
Put the lock on by raising/rotating your arms up (your shoulders barely move, then ends of your hands move alot) - not by standing up or hunching your shoulders upwards or tensing every muscle possible. Don't forget to step in with your outside foot.

2.
Similar to arm lock 1 but from the other side. Try to bring their weight onto their leg nearest to you and put the weight of their body through their locked up arm.

3.
Breath in for that extra bit of chest to pull them across.

4.
I'm a little teapot....

5.
Don't forget to step through.

6.
The old arm up around their back routine. Pull their head upwards to really get the lock on and stop them escaping.

7.
Make sure your shoes have been cleaned properly before letting go.

8.
Keep their arm nice and straight and push down on the back of their elbow.
